Architectural Sales Manager

This position is located in Grand Rapids, MI. Candidates must be willing to relocate to the area.

MBS is a collaborative partner that manages the applicant screening process for their open Architectural Sales Manager position in Grand Rapids, MI. We have aligned our recruiting processes to identify, attract, and screen candidates.
This individual will provide leadership for the Business Development/Sales Team along with developing, managing and leading processes and strategies for securing contract glazing projects.
Responsibilities:
Business Development/Sales
Develop, manage and lead business development/sales efforts and strategies for contract glazing
Identify and track contract glazing opportunities (projects) and maintain notes, lists and data
Maintain existing client business relationships and cultivate and develop new ones, including GC/CM, design professionals, suppliers, and related individuals
Attend trade associations and networking meetings and events
Track, analyze and report on industry trends and competition
Coordinator/Leadership
Coordinate BD/S Team meetings, promote the companies commitment statement
Encourage communication, collaboration, and quality, spur innovation and creativity
Report team progress and concerns to President
Lead in the development of team efforts/goals/strategies
Provide performance evaluation of team members for employee reviews
Bidding/Estimating Management
Supervise, review and delegate bidding, estimating, consultation and budgeting assignments of the Chief Estimator and Sales Estimator. Collaborate to determine strategies and priorities.
Assist in the review of specifications, drawings and supplier quotes
Attend pre-bid and post bid meetings as needed
Assure accuracy of outgoing bids, development and oversight of review processes
Manage the procurement process of the follow-up (close sale) of bids, budgets and sales efforts
Budgeting/Consulting
Develop and maintain business relationships by providing industry information, consultation and budgets to customers and design professionals
Develop and maintain methods and formats for budgeting glazing projects

Construction or architectural background/understanding of building envelope systems
Knowledge of building codes, regulatory guidelines, glazing terms, suppliers, glazing systems, labor approaches
Computer skills including; Internet, Excel, Word, Email, CAD and blueprint reading abilities
Math and basic accounting skills
Knowledge of building science, construction processes and bidding processes
Marketing, salesmanship and presentation skills, verbal and written communication skills

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
